My Hardest and Most Effective Abdominal Exercises on Video

To get strong and defined abdominals, you must do cardio, abdominal exercises, and eat well (read The Big Picture of Getting Six Pack Abs).

As we’ve seen in Abdominal Exercises Progression, you need to ramp up the difficulty of your exercises to get visible abdominals that look powerful. Hard exercises work out your abs intensely, and make them grow into a six pack.

When does it ends? The harder the better, but, in my experience, three exercises work best. And yes, they’re hard.

Before you try them, I repeat: they’re not for beginners. Do not attempt them unless you’ve been training your abs for at least three months.

The quality of the intro is not-so-good (sorry bout this), but it’s better for the exercises. It’s been viewed 40,000 times since I posted it in March.

As I said, you should train to improve, and aim to do these exercises. My Six Pack Abs Exercises course reveals exactly how to begin with easy exercises (crunches and easier ones) and progress step-by-step to the three you’ve just seen.

  3. Hi Mr Singh,

Easy exercises for beginners are sit-ups and crunches. For a list of exercises with pictures and descriptions, see My #1 Source of Abdominal Exercises at http://www.sixpackabsexercises.com/blog/my-1-source-of-abdominal-exercises/40/.

  4. I’m 14 and when i do all of these exercises, another part of my body hurts before my abs. For the first exercise my legs hurt before my abs. In the second exercise, my arms hurt before my abs. In the third exercise, i used my arms way more than my abs. What exercises could i do that would pinpoint just my abs and no other part of my body.

  5. hey,carl i bet
you have 8-pac.so tell me duke,i’m right.me myself im almost there.maybe 90days from now.my cycling is about start soon,2,500+ this years.road@mountainbike/on@off road.so the core wll be strong.

  6. Hi Mike,

To answer your question, crunches would isolate your abs. That’s the wrong way to go in my opinion, though.

You’d be better off strengthening your whole body up until you’re strong enough to do the exercises in the video… because they build and define the abs better than crunches.

    Good luck.

  9. Thanks Carl,by the way,do you know how long i should do situps and crunches before starting with your workouts?

  10. your starting methods work really well do you have anymore tips.

  11. Only the third can be set aside as not for beginners. The first two are absolutely okay. I could even recommend sit ups on parallel bars but my followers are molded for that.

  12. Hey Carl..i am new to this site but i already have 6 pack abs but i want them to be 8 so i am facing trouble to have my pelly abs so plz can you help me in this maybe by giving me some exercices or abs training program..thnx

  13. Hi Zaher,

You either have six pack or an eight pack. It’s gentically determined. If you can see your six pack, chance are that’s what you were born with, and there’s no way you can get eight-pack abs.

  14. this one works perfect and is stunning thanks carl

  15. Hi Carl,
I have what looks like a one pack instead of 6 or 8. Is that possible? No matter how much I work out, I never see any definition of a six pack.

  16. Tim,

It’s hard to judge over the Internet, but I’d guess you still carry too much belly fat. If you lose a bit of fat, you should see your abs more.

    Good luck!

    Hi Carl,
Is it possible to get 6 pack without any supplements? I mean protein tablets or powder. As i am totally against it.
Will buy your abs program if it promises to show effect without much change in food habits….

    Cheers,
    Nagesh
